This will be our public blog for IGBO members. There IGBO Board members, committee chairs and invited IGBO members will post articles to the general membership. This can include board-approved topics that might solicit comments or open discussion. The blog is labeled as private in that I have blocked search engines from finding it. (Mike Tamburrino).
I will be submitting my reports via the blog but until everyone feels comfortable using it, I will also include a Word document. However, it is important that all reps and tournament directors in particular take the time to learn how to use and respond on the blog as this will be the main lines of communication for the coming bowling season.
I will continue to write individual emails when I have to deal with a subject that is private in nature and only concerns certain individuals or tournament directors.
Over the next 3 weeks I will be out of town starting on July 21 and returning on August 8. Although I will have my laptop with me, I may not have the time to respond to your comments until I return.
Online renewals will be beginning soon. I will send you a detail description as to how this will be done. You will still need to mail in your check to me along with a copy of your census form which I will then forward on to the secretary and treasurer.
Two weeks ago Ft Myers came back after a year off and had a very successful tournament. When I get the final results I will send that information to you. There were, however, two 300 thrown by Gabe Him and Daryll Johnson and a lot of winners from Atlanta (not me) and Orlando. Details to follow soon.
According to my records all leagues and tournaments with the exception of the following, have received their IGBO posters and the updated cd containing the IGBO Bylaws and Policies and Procedures (P&P). If you are not listed below and have not received these items, please let me know. Kings & Queens and GRABIT (Raleigh), A League of Their Own (Sarasota), Family Affair (Augusta) and Kocktail Bunch (Kenner, LA). These should be send out to you on Monday, July 16.
Dixie has lost a long time bowler, committee member and tournament director. Jeff Blake passed away on Friday, July 13 after a long battle with cancer. For those wanting more information, as soon as I know the details I will provide that information to you.
I am sending this as an email but I am also copying it as a blog entry. If you have comments, practice sending them via the blog.
Ray Krasneck, Southern Regional Director
